    Alphenia Plantation Cemetery Tensas Parish
    Alphenia Plantation Cemetery Tensas Parish

The photographs were taken Aug 23, 2009 (yesterday). The cemetery has been in the same basic condition for the past several decades. Some headstones have sunken deeper into the ground. There are, as far as I can tell, at least 12 graves located here. The actual location is atop an old indian mound. Nearly all of the graves are from the 1850's and most are Bowman's who owned adjoining plantations. Geographic location of site is in southwestern Tensas Parish in northeast Louisiana. Submitted by John Black August 2009.
